Gerakan WWF dalam menyadarkan masyarakat dunia akan adanya Global Warming ini dimulai dua tahun lalu. 

Tahun ini kami baru turut berpartisipasi...I think last year saya sadar pun belum akan adanya gerakan ini. So...the campaign they are doing is quite successful ya. I guess....

Ini gerakan sukarela..selama 1 jam dari jam 8.30 - 9.30 malam waktu setempat kita mematikan listrik, tidak menggunakan barang2 elektronik...and try to save some energy...and our mother earth... gitu.

Jadi kemarin kita gelap2an...pake lilin aja. Aqila was so excited because he got to see soooo many candles lit at the same time! LOL Lha...kalo ulang tahun nya dia kan lilin baru 4 ! hihi

It was actually quite nice to be in the darkness and slowdown every now and then...

For us...we spent the time by playing snake and ladder (Aqila lagi hobi neeeh)...had a cuppa and almost dozed off...because it was sooo dark and peaceful ! hehe (or perhaps it was me who was tired... gak tau deh)

Hope to do the black out thing more often lho...lumayan juga ngirit energi kalo dijadikan kebiasaan.

LEBARAN 2008

Baru sempat upload foto2 waktu mudik Lebaran Oktober 2008.

Jak and George

Jack Johnson diminta bikin soundtrack untuk film animasi anak2 Curious George , si Monyet kecil yang usil. Hasilnya : album SIng A Long and Lullaby yang maniiiiis sekali!

Lagu2nya diaransemen secara sederhana tapi melodius dan enak dipakai dansa (silly dance gitu, kan untuk anak2). Liriknya lumayan berguna untuk ngajar Sharing...., ngajar think out of the box dg lagu Upside Down, olah raga dengan lagu Jungle Gym, probability and speculation sambil dengerin lagu Supposed to Be, to cherish friendships dg lagu We're Going To BE Friends etc etc

Aqila senang dg lagu2 di album ini. Dia sendiri yg minta joget dan goyang2 sembari kadang2 ikutan nyanyi! hihi.... Sayang sekali filmnya tidak sampai sini, kota mungil ini memang terlalu kecil dalam ukuran pasar film yg sangat spesifik spt ini. Yah...siapa tahu ada yg mau kirim DVDnya ke kami? hihi

Sementara...harus puas dg albumnya Oom Jack dan buku2 Si CUrious George.

Iseng jepret sana sini sambil menemani Aqila bersepeda di sekitar rumah. Mumpung cuaca hari ini cerah. Enjoy...

10 Indoor Activities for Young Children

Singapore is pretty wet this week. The rain seems to love this tiny island alot, it keeps pouring down its tiny...sometimes not so tiny droplets till we feel like we want to hibernate!



When it rains and you have young children at home...now, that is a real challenge for you. Why? Because your children will absolutely hate the ongoing rain, simply because they cant play outside. Not being able to play outside will make them restless, as children need to release their abundant energy somehow.



Jadi bagaimana? Ampun...ampun...

Thse past couple of days...has been a trying couple of days for me!

SO here it is, i list down all the possible indoor activities i can think of with the hope that next time i dont have to scratch my head until botak!



Suggested activities (for children 3-5 years old)

1. Bake cookies/ bread together. (My favorite activity!)
2. Make scrap book
3. Draw using ice cream sticks / chopsticks
4. Stamping different shapes objects (triangle/square/circle), cut out the pattern on cucumber/ carrot
5. Draw a picture story together and color it. You can make up your own story or adopt from popular children stories
6. Make pfoto frame/ greeting card decorated with beans (mung bean, adzuki, soya etc)
7. Draw your children's favorite animal/ objects (car, house, rocket, space ship) and decorate them with homemade confetti (small bits of colored papers tore off by hand)
8. Play 'bowling'. Use empty mineral water bottles and a medium sized ball
9. Learning math, scooping beans with spoon and fill up different size bottles/ containers
10. Guessing game. Collect and store different objects in a bag. Ask yor child put in his hand into the bag, and feel an object. Ask him to describe and/or guess what the object is.
