From time to time my husband has to remind me that I need to teach Aqila to cook. If you have been following this blog, you know that Aqila has multiple food allergies. Practically, he has been eating home cooked meals most of the times as most commercially sold foods contain eggs, peanuts/nuts and seafood. We foresee, that in the future, when we is studying away from home, he will need to prepare his own meal because mama will not be around to do that for him! I was so glad to came across to this recipe when I was surfing mindlessly hehe...
So here is a bowl, a mug or a cup of chocolate cake (whatever you call it) that was prepared and cooked in the microwave, all in under 5 minutes! It is too good to be true, right? Well I thought so too, until I tried the recipe. The sunken hole in the middle of the cake is where the chocochips are melted. It is very soft and moist and super yummy! You may want to enjoy this cake with a scoop of vanilla ice cream! Love it. Click this for recipe.
After several try, we came up with a lemon cup-cake version of it. It is also a winner. Recipe is here.
What have I learned from this episode?
1. I can host a 'Kopi Cantik' time ( an Indonesian term for coffee/ tea-time complete with cakes n cookies) with my friends anytime without thinking too much of what to serve.
2. Most importantly is that my son can now prepare his own desserts, simple and easy.
